Longton bathroom questions, answered
Can you fit a level access shower in a Blurton bungalow?
In most cases yes. On a suspended timber floor the former is recessed between joists so the finished floor stays level. On a solid floor the options are a very low profile tray or building the surrounding floor up. The floor construction decides it, so that is checked first.
The bathroom floor feels spongy in our Meir estate house. Is that serious?
It usually means the chipboard has taken water and swelled, often from a long standing slow leak at the bath or WC. It cannot be tiled over. The affected boards are cut out, the leak source dealt with and a sound deck laid.
Why does the bath drain so slowly in our terrace?
Long waste runs added when the bathroom was formed often have too little fall, and years of debris makes it worse. Re running the waste with a correct fall during the refit is the permanent answer.
Do you cover Meir and Normacot as well as Longton itself?
